Dive Rescue Team

Divers
The Georgetown Dive Rescue Team was first formed by the direction of the township board in 1980 under Chief Wayne Tanis. It is a perilous assignment, comprised of highly trained and motivated individuals. Their knowledge includes but is not limited to water rescue and recovery, ice rescue, swift water rescue and flood evacuations.

The current team is made up of 14 divers and 6 support personnel. They train monthly at various locations in the greater township area. Divers are PADI open water certified and many are advanced open water certified. All divers have swift water and ice rescue training. We operate under a certified dive master on staff.

Georgetown's dive rescue team primarily operates on the east side of Ottawa County also supporting neighboring communities that don't have their own dive teams.
