  1. Adult Winter Reading: 32 Degree Club

    The 32-Degree Adult Winter Reading Club challenges you to cozy up with a good book and log 32 days of reading between January 1 and February 28. Read 15 minutes or more for 32 days and receive a small prize. Read 10 books to enter the grand prize drawing for a gift card. Entries must be received and prizes must be claimed by Saturday, March 4 at 5 pm. Pick up a reading log beginning December 19.

  4. Virtual Calvin January Series: Peter Wehner, How Christianity Can be a Healing Force in American Society

    Peter Wehner is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times, contributing editor for The Atlantic, and an in-residence senior fellow for Trinity Forum. He has written for numerous other publications and appeared frequently as a commentator for various television news outlets. Wehner worked for three Republican administrations and is a leading conservative critic of Donald Trump and his effect on the Republican Party. The January Series is a FREE 15-day lecture series that takes place each year at Calvin University and aims to cultivate deep thought and conversations about important issues of the day in order to inspire cultural renewal and make us better global citizens in God's world.

January's book is Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout Olive Kitteridge offers profound insights into the human condition – its conflicts, its tragedies and joys, and the endurance it requires. At times stern, at other times patient, at times perceptive, at other times in sad denial, Olive Kitteridge, a retired schoolteacher, deplores the changes in her little town of Crosby, Maine, and in the world at large, but she doesn’t always recognize the changes in those around her: a lounge musician haunted by a past romance; a former student who has lost the will to live; Olive’s own adult child, who feels tyrannized by her irrational sensitivities; and her husband, Henry, who finds his loyalty to his marriage both a blessing and a curse.

  6. Teen Afterschool Hangout

    Teens ages 13-17 are invited to spend their afterschool time at the library. Each week we will have board games, video games, craft supplies, snacks, and more available to teens to enjoy. We will also have special craft days, movie days, and even pizza days. This is a drop-in program so no registration is required and teens may arrive/leave anytime during the program.
