Project Map 2017

Here is a copy of the press release from the OCRC:

Grand Haven, Michigan - The Board of County Road Commissioners have awarded a
$4,849,630.83 contract to Kamminga & Roodvoets, a construction company from Grand Rapids,
to replace a portion of the wastewater collection system that serves Georgetown Charter
Township, the City of Hudsonville, and Jamestown Charter Township. The project is located
along Chicago Drive, from 8th Avenue to the Rush Creek Bridge, and along Port Sheldon Road,
from south of Main Street to north of Chicago Drive. The project will include the replacement of
6,000 feet of sewer main and 3,700 feet of water main. The final restoration of Chicago Drive
will include the installation of 4,900 feet of a non-motorized pathway from Main Street to 8th
Avenue, including a connection to the 8th Avenue Community Park.

The $6.8 million dollar project, which includes engineering and contingencies, will be funded by
Georgetown Township (81%), Hudsonville (5.6%) and Jamestown Township (13.6%). The
project is part of a regional wastewater system that has served these communities since 1969.
The project will start this April and is scheduled to be completed in November, 2017.

Pat Staskiewicz, Public Utilities Director for the Ottawa County Road Commission states,
“Several sections of the sanitary sewer are in poor condition and are in need of immediate
replacement. The project engineer, Prein & Newhof, has done a great job designing this project
with an expedited schedule to minimize disruptions to the communities. We also have had
great support and cooperation from the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Michigan
Department of Environmental Quality, and other agencies in obtaining our permits.”

The project team will be meeting with the contractor in the next few weeks to hold a
preconstruction meeting and to review the project schedule. Road closures and other project
updates will be posted on Georgetown Charter Township’s Facebook page and on the Ottawa
County Road Commission website (www.ottawacorc.com) under Quick Links.
